State Fair 2010

We took Grandma and Grandpa to the state fair.  Because Grandpa is on the board of the Colorado State Fair, it was interesting to him to see another fair.  The girls were primarily interested in the midway (ride area) and we all enjoyed interesting fair food for lunch.

Lora's Birthday -- October 8

Lora's pillow pet from Grandma and Grandpa!  She had a wonderful birthday.  We went to Cheeburger Cheeburger for dinner and enjoyed burgers and incredible onion rings.  The girls meals came in cute pink paper Cadillacs.  They use them to play with their barbies and webkinz stuffed animals.  Lora also got a keyboard and other fun things.

Camp Ozark

Better late than never, I suppose.  I didn't want to forget these two pictures of Lora at Camp Ozark.  She was blessed with a scholarship to this very exclusive, high $ camp (one week is $1200!).

Lora and one of her camp counselors.

Lora by the swimming area.  She LOVED camp.  Her favorite activities were archery, crafts, & "mishmash" time (campers pick what they want to do).

Kittens

The kittens were born on August 17.  We went to the Open House at Indian Hills Elementary and came home to a basket full of kittens!   Mittens, the Momma, gave birth to 4 healthy babies.  The girls had so much fun watching them grow from babies with shut eyes to playful kittens.  We could not keep all of them, of course, so good bye's were said after the kittens reached 8 weeks old.  What a fun experience!

Pancake Fun!!!

One fall Saturday morning I surprised the girls with these pancakes.  They loved them!   Simple...  fun...  memories!

RiverFest 2010

We rode the trolley from North Little Rock over the river to get to Riverfest.

Lora waiting to dance with her "I Can Dance" group.

Riverfest couldn't happen without at least one thunderstorm and rain.....waiting it out under an overpass.

The girls enjoyed decorating cupcakes.

Riverfest 2010 -- "I Can Dance"

Yesterday our Lora "danced" with a group called "I Can Dance" at Riverfest. An amazing dance troupe of children with special needs....Spina Bifida, Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and other disabilities. She had only been to three classes but was able to participate. The first video is the North Little Rock group which has only existed for a few months. The 2nd video is the Little Rock Troupe and they have been working for over a year. You will see "regular kids" parterning with the special needs kids. The video quality is poor but it will make you smile to you watch....

Little Rock "I Can Dance" Troupe -- Julie Mayberry started the group so her daughter with spina bifida could dance. Words can't describe seeing this group in real life. I cried through their entire performance....kids with special needs getting to experience the joy of performing!

Easter 2010

The girls checking out their Easter basket...new movies and chocolate!

Easter Egg Hunt at Chris Gay's House

Lora went to kindergarten with a boy named Chris Gay.  Every year his family has an Easter egg hunt at their home.  It's incredible!   Lots and lots of eggs and lots of toys and "prizes" for the kids to find.  This was our 2nd year to go....the girls loved it!
